After many productions came to a halt during due to Covid, everything is going back to normal and the coming months as well as 2023 are packed to the brim with fantastic film releases. I must admit, although I am a cinema lover, I haven’t visited the big screens much as I haven’t really been a big fan of any of the latest releases.

Which of the upcoming movies are you mostly looking forward to?

The Little Mermaid

Rob Marshall’s live-action of “The Little Mermaid” will be hitting the screens on May 26, 2023. “The Little Mermaid” is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. Being a huge fan of The Little Mermaid, I am beyond excited for this and I can’t wait to watch this.

This live-action has raised a lot of discussions regarding Halle Bailey being cast as Ariel. I personally love Halle and I believe all the hate will seize once everyone gets to hear her magnificent voice.

Peter Pan & Wendy

The Peter Pan movie from 2003 is one of my all-time favourite classics. It’s something I used to watch over and over again with my sister when we were younger. 

During the Disney’s D23 Expo held in September 2022, a number of new films were announced. 

Filming for this live adaptation was supposed to initiate back in April 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was all delayed to March 2021.
I look forward to see how the new Peter Pan & Wendy will play out and although I’m sure that Disney will do the story justice, I am not convinced yet if this will beat the 2003 rendition on my list.
 
Peter Pan & Wendy will be released in 2023, but a set date has not be released as of yet. Who’s excited?!

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

The Hunger Games is the 21st-highest-grossing film franchise of all time, having grossed over US$2.97 billion worldwide. After 8 years since the last film, The Hunger Games is set to return to the big screens in 2023 with a prequel. Although I am looking forward to watching this, don’t expect this to be anything like the original films. If you’re a fan of the impeccable cast which were part of the first 4 films like me, you might be disappointed.

The story is focused more on a younger President Snow who seeks fortune for his family. I’m not so sure it will be as interesting without Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.

AVATAR: The Way of Water

After over a decade of waiting, 13 years to be exact, we are finally getting the sequel of one of the all-time favourites –  Avatar. I have to say, I actually gave up on the idea of Avatar 2 ever being released and when the upcoming Avatar was announced, I was over the moon.

The very first Avatar was released on December 17th, 2009 and remains the highest grossing film of all time to date. The new film is set more than a decade after the events of the first film, and it tells the story of Jake, Neytiri, and their kids, the battles and the lengths they go to keep each other safe and alive, and the tragedies they endure.

Avatar: The Way of Water is going to be released on December 16th, 2022.

For quite some time, my Instagram’s home page has been swarming with gorgeous hot guys in apparel by BOX Menswear.
It was about time that I try this brand’s products myself to see what the hype was all about, and honey, I was not disappointed!
At first, I was only planning to buy a pack of 3 plain white briefs. My mind was set. However… at some point whilst exploring their products page, I found out that they also had a mystery box.

There was no way I was gonna check out without adding that thang to my cart! Who doesn’t love a surprise?

My order didn’t take long to arrive, and when it finally did, I was dying to see what was inside the mystery box.
The products arrived in 2 different boxes. One was white, whilst the other box was red. They both had a big reflective logo of the brand on the front of the box. The packaging is very important. Not only is it the first thing you see, but good packaging can affect how you look at a brand.

White Briefs

First, I opened the white box. Here I found the pack of 3 white plain briefs that I originally wanted to order.

The briefs are made from premium quality soft stretch fabric that has an amazing silky feel to it. The elasticated waistband features the brand’s distinctive BOX logo.

Football Socks - Blue/White

In the white box, there was also a pair of premium thick blue socks. Since I didn’t really add this specific item to my cart before checking out, so I assumed that they were a part of the mystery box.
These premium quality socks are tailored to offer elasticity, breathability, and most importantly longevity. They also feature the distinctive BOX logo.
Then I went on and started opening the mysterious red box. I had no clue what was in it and I was psyched to find out.
A personal note: I honestly love the red box/packaging. It gives it a very sexy and mysterious vibe.

Mens Pink Boxers

This cute pink boxer shorts was the first item that caught my eyes.
These boxers are known for being extremely comfortable due to them being made from a stretch fabric that will wrap around your ass and sculpt your goods.

Mens Black Boxers

The second item  that caught my eyes was this black boxer shorts.
This stylish premium boxer shorts will keep you comfortable all day long. Made from soft stretch fabric with distinctive BOX branding to the waistband and thigh.

Box Sports Socks

The third item I got was this pair of thick sports socks.
These breathable socks are made from a super soft cotton blend with added stretch for additional comfort and durability.
Although these specific socks only come in two different colours (black or grey), they have similar socks with more colourful options that are available just for about €1 more.

The last item that I got happens to be my absolute favourite! The teal coloured brief is practically the same as the white ones I ordered, just in a different colour.
Going back to when I was ordering my briefs, I was kinda split between the white ones, and the teal briefs.

MY OPINION

After going through the whole process of buying, unboxing & trying out the products myself, there’s no negative remarks I can really pass about BOX Menswear.
All the products I received were exactly as shown and described on their website. The colours are beautiful, and they are made from premium materials for durability and comfort.
I will be definitely buying more stuff in the future, and I would happily recommend their products.

Writing this post put me in a very difficult position. I mean, when doesn’t Beyoncé slay a performance?!
She’s been around for over 2 decades and her influence on the world keeps on growing bigger and bolder. Queen B is a celebrity to celebrities, and whenever she makes a move, we can do nothing else but stan!

SUPER BOWL XLVII (2013)

Remember when her highness Queen B gave us the best half-time show ever? Yes, that’s the one. Till this very day, Beyoncé’s electrifying performance at the 2013’s Super Bowl Half-Time Show is still considered to be one of the best in history.
She performed some of her most loved hits, such as Love On Top, Crazy in Love, Baby Boy, Single Ladies & Halo. Bey was also joined by her former Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.
This performance also marked her come back since having her first child, Blue Ivy. And let’s just be real for a minute… It’s difficult to top that one!

Love On Top | Pregnancy Reveal

Back in 2011, Beyoncé performed ‘Love On Top’ at the VMA, and honey, she was glowing.
She started her performance by saying “Tonight I want you to stand up on your feet, I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside of me”. Little did we know what was about to happen.
As her performance came to an end, *MIC DROP* *BABY BUMP REVEAL*… Hunney, I was gagged!
I did not see that coming. Especially after a performance where Bey sang Love on Top in pencil high heels as if it was just another casual Friday! It was a truly magical moment that had the whole Beehive buzzing.

Stevie Wonder Tribute Performance

If you are a Stevie fan, you need to watch this. I promise, you’re not gonna be disappointed!
Beyoncé delivered a strong soulful performance that had everyone on their feet. Her raw powerful vocals were phenomenal, and I’m sure Stevie agrees too! After performing ‘Fingertips’, Ed Sheeran joined her on stage for ‘Master Blaster’. Bey and Ed then performed ‘Higher Ground’ together with the amazing Gary Clark Jr.

BEYCHELLA

(PREVIOUSLY KNOWN AS COACHELLA)
In 2018, Beyoncé headlined Coachella and gave us her very first performance since having her beautiful twins Sir & Rumi. She gave us a show that will be remembered for decades to come. The queen performed, and the whole world stopped to watch.
Her performance included hits like Crazy In Love, Check On It, and  Baby Boy. She was also joined on stage by Jay Z, J Balvin, Solange & by the former Destiny’s Child’s members Kelly & Michelle. I WAS SHOOKETH.
On April 17, 2019, Beyoncé released a concert film and live album of her performance entitled Homecoming.

Super Bowl 50 Half-Time Show

Whenever Bey performs, you know she’s gonna give you what you expected and more.
In 2016, Beyoncé performed at the Super Bowl once again. She wasn’t the headliner, but she made headlines!
Her performance was a bold statement. An ode to black American culture. It was a risky move that had drawn both outrage and praise. She used one of the biggest platforms in the US to share her message. She is fearless, and that is why we love her.

Today, I would like to commemorate the passing of the Glee star, Naya Rivera. She was an amazing actress/singer who played the role of an openly lesbian woman in Glee.

After 6 long dreadful days of searching, a body was found in Lake Piru. Sheriff Bill Ayub said that they’re confident the body discovered is Naya Rivera. Her body will be taken to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy and positive identification.

There’s nothing that indicates any foul play took place or that she died by suicide as some theories that were spinning on the media. This was simply a heartbreaking accidental drowning death.

Remembering Her Dedication To Help Others

Naya always tried to give back however she could. She dedicated some of her time to several charity organizations, like The Trevor Project, Stand Up to Cancer, The Sunshine Foundation, and GLAAD amongst others.

In 2011, she was named the newest celebrity spokesperson for Proactiv. On March 24, 2012, she co-hosted the 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York with Glee co-star Cory Monteith. Along with John Stamos, both hosts auctioned off kisses to the crowd, raising $15,000. This tradition had started with Rivera when she hosted the 22nd Annual Media Awards in San Francisco.

Naya's Career

When she was only 4 years old, Naya landed the role of Hillary Winston in The Royal Family. She made a name for herself as a child actress and model, who appeared in various national TV commercials. For the next ten years, she had small roles on various television shows, including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Family Matters, and Baywatch.
In 2009, Naya had her big break after landing the rold of Santana Lopez on Glee, the FOX hit series. Apart from being an incredible actress, she was also a very talented singer. Naya got signed to Columbia Records in 2011, making her one of the first glee stars to land a Solo contract. That same year, she was nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
In 2013, Naya released Sorry, a single featuring Big Sean, whom she was briefly engaged to in 2013, before ending the relationship later on in 2014. She later dated Josey’s father, actor Ryan Dorsey, marrying him in Cabo San Lucas in July 2014. They divorced in 2018 and had been sharing custody of Josey.

Naya was a force to be reckoned with. She was part of over 17 different TV series and 6 films, some of which include; Glee, Baywatch, At The Devil’s Door (a.k.a HOME), CSI: Miami, and Step Up: High Water.

Remembering Naya Rivera

Being completely honest, I am still shocked about this whole situation. Naya was a role-model for many people, especially for the young LGBT teens who grew up watching Glee.
Millions of people watched Glee for the drama, the cover versions, the comedy – and the positive representation of a relationship between two LGBT women. Naya played cheerleader Santana Lopez, who discovered she was a lesbian when she fell for her best friend, Brittany.
Above everything, she was of African-American, German, and Puerto Rican descent, as well as the mother of Josey Hollis Dorsey, the daughter of Yolanda, a former model, and George Rivera.
She was the oldest of three children: her younger brother is former NFL tight end Mychal Rivera, and her younger sister is runway model Nickayla Rivera.
We can only hope and pray that her soul, as well as her family, find comfort and peace. Her death was a truly heartbreaking and shocking accident, and with no doubt, her name will live on forever through her work and all the art that she has left behind.

Some time ago, I received a personalised tote bag from Eartton.
Eartton is a London based brand that specialises in hand personalised cotton tote bags. I had a nice chat with the team behind behind Eartton, and I simply love the dedication and passion they have for creating these personalised bags.

1. How and why did you choose ‘Eartton’ as the name of your brand?
I chose Eartton because it is made of 2 words, earth and cotton. It shows the purpose of this brand. ‘Earth’ represents what I’m passionate about; sustainable living, finding eco friendly alternatives, etc. Ergo cotton tote bags.
Hopefully, making them pretty and exciting will encourage people to shift their choices away from plastics bags, which would make a small yet a very important impact.
2. For how long have you been running Eartton?
It actually started long time ago. My family used to craft, sew and decorate all sorts of things. Growing up in that environment shaped how I see things, and it made me appreciate hand made items.
It always made me so happy when I saw someone blushing when gifted a huge flower bouquet crafted by my family. It made me so proud of them and I always imagined I will follow their steps but haven’t thought about it until the beginning of this year.
When, unfortunately, the pandemic affected the whole world, it also made us see clearer than ever of the impact we are having on our planet. Moreover, it was such a difficult time because we couldn’t see our loved ones, so sending them a small personalized gift was a great way to connect and share our love. I decided to start selling the totes to make that special someone smile again and help the planet at the same time.
3. What sets you apart from other brands?
I think the main difference can be seen when comparing with ‘big brands’ and large-scale companies. As a small business, you really put all of yourself into what you present, because it also represents you.
I care about each product I make and I imagine this will be a gift for a family member, a dear friend, or a little treat for yourself. This fuels me to put that extra effort whilst hoping that it will meet the buyer’s expectations and bring joy and happiness to whoever receives the tote bag. All the effort, time, and care that’s put into creating a product is unique to small businesses, and I’m proud to be a part of them.

During this difficult time, we find ourselves scrolling on our phones more than usual.
We’re turning to the internet’s never-ending content to cheer ourselves up, or even just to find some motivation and inspiration. Although most restrictions were lifted, the war is not over, and this whole situation is weighing on most of us.
It’s important that even in this situation, we keep our lives going – cautiously. If you aren’t currently working due to COVID-19, then it’s the perfect time to learn something new or work on other projects that you don’t usually have much time for.
Whilst I understand that we might not be so motivated, we have to remain disciplined and try our best nonetheless.

For some time, I have wanted to write or create a book. After a lot of brainstorming, I finally decided that I wanted to create a number of photo-books that showcase the beauty of my home country – Malta.
“Without a doubt, Valletta was the first location I wanted to showcase.”
Its historical baroque buildings and landmarks are simply breathtaking.
Not everyone sees Valletta’s worth, but those who, fall eternally in love with it. I, for one, am one of those. Every time I visit Valletta, be it for work or just for a stroll, I find it difficult not to appreciate what my ancestors created with their bare hands for all of us to enjoy.

Facts About Valletta
• Valletta (named after its founder Jean Parisot de la Valette) is Malta’s capital city.
• Started in 1566, Valletta was completed, with its impressive bastions, forts, and cathedral, in the astonishingly short time of 15 years. This is remarkable considering the fact that mechanical tools did not exist at the time and the whole city was built entirely by hand.

This week was a very special week for me. My princess Toya turned 6 last Tuesday! When I adopted Toya, she was only about 8 weeks old, and we bonded from the very start. 🥰❤️
Toya is a Husky and Springer mix. She’s very energetic and bubbly. She loves to run and play – especially in puddles 😅😂 – but her favourite thing in the world is swimming.
I just can’t imagine my life without my sweet princess. She fills my heart with such joy, I can’t even explain it. She is my everything.

All dogs, regardless of their breed, are direct descendants of wolves and are technically of the same species.

In 2014, I adopted my fury princess, Toya. Since then, she sincerely became the love of my life. Turns out, petting a dog and gazing into their eyes releases a “love hormone” called Oxytocin — for both yourself and your dog.

For these past 26 years, Labradors have been the most popular breed in the United States.
8. Why do dogs curl up to sleep? 😪😴
Dogs have age-old instinct to curl up in a super cute ball when they sleep. They do this to keep themselves warm and to protect vital organs while they sleep.
9. Dogs miss you when you’re away for long! 😢🥺
It has been proven that if conditioned to, dogs can predict future events that happen at a specific time.
10. The oldest breed in the world.
The Saluki is the world’s oldest dog breed. They appear in ancient Egyptian tombs that date back to 2100 B.C.
11. Dogs smell your fear! 🙀👀

Your dog’s sense of smell is approximately 100,000 times better than yours. When a human is fearful, they perspire, and a dog is able to pick up on such change.

12. Disease detectors. 🤧

A phenomenal fact about dogs is that they can be trained to detect diseases in humans, such as cancer. They may be able to sniff out cancer cells simply through smelling a person’s breath.

13. Wet nose.

Dogs have wet noses because they secrete a mucous that absorbs scent chemicals.

14. Dogs can catch the subway! 🚇

Stray dogs in Russia have learned how to ride the complex subway system, and get off at specific stops in search of food.

15. Second fastest land animal.

Compared to the average 19mph of many dogs, a greyhound can run at an incredible 45mph. With such amazing speed, they are the second fastest land animal behind the Cheetah.

16. Rolling in a puddle.

When dogs roll in something, it could be because they like it and want to take its scent with them.

17. The jealousy is real… 🙄

A study at UCSD claims that your fury buddy can genuinely get jealous when seeing you showing affection for another animal.

18. 900 million dogs! 🐕🐶🦴

There are approximately 900 million dogs (including feral and wild dogs) around the whole world — of which, 3/4 are strays.

19. Spiked collars.

In ancient Greece, spiked collars were originally fashioned to protect dogs’ throats from wolf attacks.

20. When a puppy is born, he is blind, deaf, and toothless.

Puppies are born blind and deaf, with both their eyes and ears sealed shut. For their first two weeks of life, newborn pups experience the world entirely through touch and smell. During the third week their eyes and ears open, giving tiny pups a whole new way to experience life.

21. Legs up!

Male dogs raise their legs while urinating to aim higher — in order to leave a message that they are tall and intimidating. That said, some wild dogs in Africa try to run up tree trunks while they are urinating to appear to be very large.

Celebrating Carnival In Malta

Hey everyone, welcome to my channel! This past weekend we celebrated carnival in my home country Malta.
Here is a recap of what my carnival looked like, and further down in this post, I’ll be sharing with you some info about carnival in Malta – just in case you find your way here during next year’s carnival.
If you haven’t already noticed from the number of feasts celebrated in Malta, Maltese people like to party and celebrate at every chance they get, and Carnival (Maltese: il-Karnival ta’ Malta) is exactly that – a massive colourful party – spread over 5 days.
It has been celebrated since at least the mid-15th century and it’s a part of Malta’s cultural calendar.
Carnival is held during the week leading up to Ash Wednesday, and it usually includes dancing competitions, a parade of artistic floats, marching bands and plenty of late-night costume parties amongst other types of celebrations.

Opening Ceremony

The main carnival celebrations all happen in Malta’s historical capital city, Valletta.
On Friday, there is opening ceremony, where you’ll see various competitive dancing companies, followed by the Carnival King Float, Grotesque Masks, and other colourful artistic floats.

Children's Carnival

Many kids eagerly await this time of year, I mean, who doesn’t like going out dressed up as a princess or Spiderman?
During the 5-day celebration, Saturday is dedicated to the young kids. There are several competitions for them to compete in, and honestly, it’s heart-warming seeing young kids in the sweetest of costumes.
Several dancing competitions are held throughout the day, followed by a small defilé with the participation of the King Carnival Float, and other artistic floats.

Carnival in Nadur, Gozo

Although this isn’t officially a part of the carnival celebrations, it’s very quickly becoming a tradition. During carnival, thousands catch the ferry to go to Nadur, a town in Gozo, where carnival is celebrated with a bit of a darker twist.

Carnival in Gozo is mostly notable for its risqué and appalling themes. Revellers tend to wear more gruesome costumes, while others make a fool of political figures.
